Recent studies indicate the Chinese and Indians are the most materialistic people in the world. They insist their children pursue a career which will make the family the most money. They would never understand St. Francis of Assisi or Mother Theresa.

A racist can never be a human being just like a rapist or a murderer won’t be. Also do you think a guy who can speak doesn’t have the brain to know what they’re saying? If someone is calling you a racist slur they know exactly what they are saying. Why do you think they call you chink but no one else? Does it then make sense to ask hey why are you calling me a chink? You are going to make a fool out of yourself. Only solution to racism is ignore and forgive and treat as a mental illness in other person. However if you are willing to risk a situation that turns out to be difficult, you could try getting violent but not recommended for sure.

My Puerto Rican Dad was strict. However I remember him allowing me to sit with him at our table with his peers. I was 14 and I sat with my Dad, uncle and my Dad's army buddy. They shared how they came to the U.S. from Puerto Rico during the depression with nothing. They served in World War 11 and struggled to provide a decent and honorable living for their families. I felt honored to be allowed to listen to their life experiences. It gave me a perspective on their struggles and motivated me to do the best I could.

I am dealing with racism on the job. I even have recording submitted ot to the EEOC, and 2 other people reported it to the EEOC. And the crazy part I have emails and recording and I still have to report to him and they won't fire him. I reported it the the director of HR and the president of the company nothing happened

Doesn't sound like you've actually suffered from it and you're giving advice. As an asian female who has accent, I do get affected in many ways. Microaggression with deceiving smiles is more common than name calling or straight up bullying, and people have to suck it up or fight for their small rights just because we're colored living in North America. Maybe the racistic treatments have not been as evident to you as to the people who has lived in Asia longer than you did and shows more asian culture or accents. So you might not be the most suitable person to give advice since you don't even understand the suffering people go through because of this

I am almost 20 now. I think I have achieved so much in life, all I wanna do is to see my parents proud and happy. I think I've done everything a brilliant kid supposed to do. I excel academically, got rank 1 from grade 1 to 12, graduate from highschool for only 2 years, got accepted to college without test, doing a double degree, perfect GPA, teaching stuff, etc. My parents are proud but not like very proud. They literally said that they would be weirded out if their kids are not capable doing what I did. I don't know what to feel at that point.

7 years ago, I had a big video game additions. I were struggling so much. As an international student come from a working class family, it made me feel worst when my parent offer me everything and here I were playing video game all day. Then, I found your video on quitting video games and my life has changed so much since then. I found my passion in robotics. I graduated from top university and work for top tech company. Recently, there is a lot of personal issue and here I am looking for video games and binge eating as a cure. It made me feel ashamed of myself. But hey, I quit them once and I can quit them again. I can do this I can confirm that you are changing people life or my life at least. Your video always fuel me up and help me go through these difficult time. Being vulnerable is the hardest thing for a man. I am glad you have the gut to share your journey it in front of the internet. Then, you help people like me feel like I am not alone. Thank you Richard!! see you in 7 years 😄

Redo this question. In today's weird upsidedown world, as opposed to 7 years ago, it isn't slurs anymore. It's elimination. From colleges and universities. From land. From others telling me how to feel about myself as a woman, or man, or child playing dressup. It isn't slurs anymore. The world has gone way passed that.

My name is Khalil. I work in an office space where everything is relaxed. Last week I heard a colleague refer to me as being part of Hamas (the terrorist organization) at the time I brushed it off my shoulders and didn’t think much because the person immediately ran out and went home. In retrospect I feel bad for this person. I wonder why ppl do not like Muslims and Jewish ppl and the crazy thing is that I am Christian…

So relatable. So many of these parents come with ingrained, fixed mindsets that are so unadaptable it it just makes life a tremendous, completely unseen struggle for their kids. Having to deal with their preconceptions about life and how that affects you is battle unseen by so many of your peers. Honestly the struggle is so hard with asian parents and grandparents. Some other things too: extreme favoritism and racism, especially towards African Americans.

Words don’t mean much -- think of how many people have heard the word’s I love you and then find out that love was not the truth…but actions of wanting to take what you own or some advantage over another -hurting another’s body is a criminal act and should be taken somewhat differently (thinking of a case of a child) but also love and forgiveness of the offended person expressing that toward the racist after apology both actions of the racist and the victim of racism is act of love. Racism should be stopped at childhood age…it’s very judgmental …I would also like to add that there are those that provoke racist feelings and that is also worse than has been spoken about before…I have seen that done on both sides it’s very ugly. Nothing good comes from these feelings acted out to hurt each other. I’m always happy when I see the strength of the bullied take the better road..

They just restrict me from having a normal adult life (socializing, hanging out with friends, dating, etc.) and they now wonder why I am so eager and want to move out when they call me out for being "selfish". Thanks for sharing this informative video that everyone can relate to!
